GETTABANDI – 2023/2024

Gettabandi è l’ultima composizione pittorica work-in-progress. Si tratta di una serie di pitture ad olio su carta, di medio grande formato. L’opera è realizzata contemporanemanete alle produzioni video cinematografiche, nasce dunque da una grossa influenza del formato video. I singoli quadri sono pensati per essere “frame” di situazioni impossibili, scorci di prossimi scenari da riprendere e appunti per progetti performativi in programma.

L’affiancamento di queste pitture forma una struttura unica, chiamata Cartellone, realizzata artigianalmente, e usata per le rappresentazioni letterarie che le pitture offrono.

Liberamente ispirata dalle opere dei cantastorie siciliani del 900 come Ciccio Busacca e Orazio Strano.

Gettabandi is the latest work-in-progress painting composition. It consists of a series of medium to large format oil paintings on paper. The work is created simultaneously with video and cinematic productions, drawing significant influence from the video format. Each individual painting is conceived as a “frame” of impossible situations, glimpses of upcoming scenarios to be filmed, and notes for planned performative projects.

The juxtaposition of these paintings forms a unique structure called Cartellone, handcrafted and used for the literary representations that the paintings evoke.

This work is freely inspired by the creations of 20th-century Sicilian storytellers such as Ciccio Busacca and Orazio Strano.
